ok, i've begun ordering the parts for my "one guitar does it all (almost anyway)"

minimalist snake head telecaster.....

i want to install a piezo tremolo and there doesn't seem to be much info

in the way of comparative reviews for these products, although the prices

for a few brands can vary significantly.

.........so, who here is familiar with these types of "pickups" and what are

your thoughts about them regarding tone and reliability?

yes, pics will come when the build begins/ends.

i've ordered the body and i'm blue printing the neck this weekend.

thanks and good weekend,
mj

"Blue printing the neck" If you re getting a true custom neck from a Luthier as oppossed to your fav measurements and contour from Warmouth, I'd recommend piezos in the neck. I'd read Frank Zappa had done it, so I did it for a build. W both the fingerboard and bridge piezoed you get a more 3D acoustic sound, much more like an actual acoustic. For p/ups if you start w a HiFi p/up like Bartolini etc you have a full range sound that can be modified w a EQ instead of using a trad p/up that will have a reconizable sound, great for sounding like everyone who went before, but not as versitale.

thanks, teleterr...i too am a fan of fz.

....i'm still quite interested in knowing what some of you other members have to say

about the tremolo bridges with piezos in them...

fishman, shadow, lr baggs are some of the brands that i'm looking at this week.....

any thoughts, y'all?

Alternatively top a piezo, you could try a shadow nanomag fitted in the neck to get acoustic sounds.
