nickhofen July 26th, 2012, 04:37 PM I am in the middle of a Thinline body building ,it has a belly cut and armrest ,mahogany body and curly maple top, but I can't decide the final appearance.
I made three plans to have an idea what the final body is going to look like but I am still confused.
Ι appreciate any help.
Regards, Nick.

dazzaman July 26th, 2012, 04:52 PM My choice would be the second image, without a pickguard.

MP Thinline Deluxe is a gorgeous Tele but this is not an option for me because this will cover almost half the maple top.
I count +2 for second image.
J Lacey July 26th, 2012, 05:33 PM No pick guard...............good luck with your build.

Thanks Jeff , I can’t wait to see your tele finished…
That counts three for no pick guard thinline.
Bentley July 26th, 2012, 08:23 PM I like the black pickguard. I just don't know about not having one. Looking at the images, I say Black. But picturing it in real life, I say no pickguard. Good luck with your build!
R. Stratenstein July 26th, 2012, 10:33 PM Another vote for no pickguard. If you're going to use figured wood that nice looking, why cover it up?

That's a good point...
I must say that I like better the no pickguard tele too.
But isn't she more Gibson than Tele ?
Crafty Fox July 27th, 2012, 05:09 AM No pickguard for me too. I think the no's are winning.

macaroonie July 27th, 2012, 08:41 AM No pickguard for me too. Gotta show off that nice wood. As ever a tip , have a look at the clear film that is available for chip protection of motorcycle plastic ( Fairings ) if you must have something to protect against scratches. Its clear and self adhesive. Sorry don't know a brand name.
