First time poster, looking for some input.
Im piecing together a baritone tele, so far with a one piece maple neck, a bigsby, paulownia body, and a dimarzio chopper t in the bridge.
I'm considering a Curtis Novak Jazzmaster for tele, but wondering if anyone has other recommendations. I already have a tele baritone with a seymour duncan p-90 in the neck. It sounds reasonably good, but I dont think I want to go the p90 road again. Not sure how I feel about a humbucker in the neck.
I should also note I'm not into down-tuned hard rock or anything like that. I play a more bluesy, surf, punk, alt country style. A combination of basslines and lead riffs. Every once in a while ill add a little dirt or fuzz to my signal, but not too much.
Does anyone have experience with the Novak pickup? I had one in a jazzmaster a few years back and loved it, but not sure how it will turn out in a baritone tele.
Any ideas for other pickups to check out? Id like to go with something you might not see everyday.
Thanks!
