Wall Hangersshanegalang July 25th, 2012, 07:31 PM Will hanging my guitars on wall hangers have a bad effect on them over time? I assume humidity etc. will play a role but just the fact that they are hanging there and not put away in a case.:?: Thanks for opinions and ideas:cool: notdave July 25th, 2012, 07:38 PM Doesn't seem to bother the guitars in a store. The plastics on some hangers can have a bad reaction with lacquer/nitro but that's about it. Oh, and you'll need to dust them more often. :wink: Get a decent wall hanger. Hercules are my faves. I've found I play the guitars that are out more often than the ones in the cases. YMMV trev333 July 26th, 2012, 06:33 AM My old '78 Ibanez acoustic is hanging on the wall beside me,, as it has done for near 20 yrs... It's never had a case... rain hail shine winter summer.... it hasn't changed a bit action/sound/finish wise.... gets a bit dusty now that I play the Tele, but always near tune when I decide to noodle something on the old weathered strings... they soon brighten up... a trooper... a solid one?... I can't see an electric guitar having any issues hanging for a generation,.. bar fading and crud build up...;) brookdalebill July 26th, 2012, 06:58 AM I've used them for years, with no problems of any kind. Appretiate the comments, Cheers JamesL July 26th, 2012, 09:22 AM I have a couple of guitars hanging on string swing hangers....but the coolest thing is the diamond life system...you can hang 8 guitars in 4 feet...there is one bad thread on the net about a failure but I am convinced it was not properly installed...I have had mine up for several weeks with no problems.
