...have this?
Most of my guitars are "plain" basic guitars, but this one is soo not me that I love it. Anybody else got a "wild" looking guitar that's "out of character" for you?
gitold July 25th, 2012, 06:38 PM This one is out of character for me because I never thought I would buy a Schecter. It's a great guitar (Schecter Solo Vintage ). Click on the pic to see it better.
JeffBeck July 25th, 2012, 07:02 PM This one is pretty out of character for me. All pointy and shreddy - not me at all, but I love it.

RevMike July 26th, 2012, 06:03 AM I don't currently own any but I have. I occaissionally get a hankering for a shredder. But never seem to bond with them. I still thing they are awesome though. Telefunken, yours is seriously cool. Nice little bit it of playin too.
John Backlund July 26th, 2012, 01:02 PM My own solidbody guitar designs are 'out of character' for me. I'm a folky, new-age, fingerpicker, couldn't play a shred of lead guitar if you put a gun to my head. I don't play particularily complicated music, some simple (IMO) instrumentals and accompanying chords.
My guitars are often visually compared to George Jetsons's flying saucer and vintage hot rods...but I play like grandma's Buick sedan.
I won't even play one of my own guitars at an open mike because I feel silly picking out a mediocre 'Wildwood Flower' on a stringed spaceship.

I just like how they look, that's a quite separate thing from playing them like they should be played. Thankfully, others do that for me.....

Devincaster July 26th, 2012, 04:29 PM It's funny seeing this video of you playing on here because I remember seeing it after browsing around YouTube! I think the spine guitars look awesome. I tried an 8 string one in the Raleigh, NC Guitar Center a while back and it was awesome.
speedy mcfeely July 26th, 2012, 04:53 PM My tele is out of character for me. I'm a rock guy with tatoos and a half stack. I don't like the pointies though, and my tele with EMGs just sounds perfect...
jkingma July 26th, 2012, 04:56 PM I've got this... it's in a box in the closet... I've only played it once.
(my Mom bought it for me a long time ago... I have to keep it, I guess)

Small World huh?
Muddslide July 26th, 2012, 08:36 PM I post this enough that people may be getting sick of it...I've had my share of oddball guitars over the years but I primarily am into the classic Teles, Strats, LPs, 335s, etc.
This one is one of my faves though:

Your guitars are just stunning, i recall some blue ones on a different thread and I thought.....oh yes please!
beep.click July 26th, 2012, 11:40 PM People who know me a little bit would say my magneta sparkle Tele is out of character.
People who know me better wouldn't bat an eye.

Those are beautiful. Not my style, but absolutely incredible. Good work!

i'm pretty sure i saw a pedal demo with one of those!
edit:the blue one
chesire July 27th, 2012, 03:58 PM I've struggled with the out of character thing too. I play a lot of classic rock and alt. country type stuff and a tele fits who I am, what I listen to and how I like to sound.
However, I'm currently in the market for a Steinberger though, so go figure.
Seasicksailor July 27th, 2012, 06:23 PM My first electric was/is definitely not me and not my music... you probably can see it from the band setup. The guitar sounds GREAT... but the looks... oh the looks. The first photo is from 1995... the second from 2009... after that, I finally decided enough was enough and I have got three more electrics. The Westone is sitting in her box quietly.
