Marc Bolan was an absolute genius ... jefrs July 25th, 2012, 03:18 PM - Always liked the Jeepster - Notice that Elton John is his piano player on that 3rd clip above..before Elton was popular... Nope, Reg Dwight was popular even then, since Spooky Two. Plus Bolan had a back history in the business (meaning he knew people), like Ringo. He started earlier than you realise across the pond. And he left a sizeable catalogue. I think my wife has the complete collection, he was particularly popular with weeny bopper girls. Think I saw Tyrannosaurus Rex (the duo) as an opening act before he started attracting screaming hordes. Post Toastie July 25th, 2012, 05:20 PM Marc used to hang around the recording studio that Pink Floyd was using when he was young and starting out. He would play his acoustic guitar and sing.David Gilmore didnt think much of Marc and said some negative stuff about him.I have way more Marc Bolin albums than my one Pink Floyd album.
