Hey guys,

So i recently bought an american deluxe tele and it came with the typical black hardcase with the fender logo pressed into it. I locked it and cant find the keys  Anyone know how i'm gonna get in there without damaging the case or guitar? Surely there's some way of getting another key?

Thanks in advance

Keys should be stock... Any music store should have one.

A Fender USA SKB case from around 2008 or later will have a TSA lock. See Here (http://www.tsa.gov/travelers/airtravel/assistant/locks.shtm)

I am sure a local locksmith will have a similar master key.

Take it to a locksmith. Bet it's open in less than 20 seconds. Should be able to make a key for you also. Make that two keys so you can stash a spare.

If your clever, you open it with a paper clip. Bend an eight in inch bit of the end and stick it in there till you find the lug.

Sounds like the voice of experience, thanks for the tip!

Do you have any briefcase or suitcase keys? Sometimes they will work if they are similar, might take a little jiggling the key around, but they might work.

If all else fails, I agree with paper clip.

+1, msot of these type locks use identical keys. They keep the case closed, but not necassarily secure. Good thing in this case!

It is very easy to open with a paper clip. Take the straightened end of a paper clip and hold the end with a pair of plyers to a depth of about 1/8 inch (3.175 mm) and bend it to a right angle. You can use it just like a key.
