Drunk eBay Purchase

So, I had a few beers and decided to browse eBay for a new volume pedal. I know, I know, drinking and eBay should never be done but here is what I did. I found a stereo volume pedal for $25 and I bid. Well, it turns out it was a keyboard volume pedal, not a guitar pedal like I wanted. So, here is my question. Can this work with a guitar? I am guessing yes but want to make sure.

Thanks for the help.

As long as it has 1/4" jacks, I don't see why not? I used to use a guitar volume pedal on my piano.

May depend on what the value of the pots is. Of course, you'd need to know that anyway, when choosing b/w various guitar vol. pedals to accomodate single coils or h'buckers ideally.

I think they are different, and have different impedances. But some volume pedals might have two outputs (or inputs?), one for guitar and one for keys/midi.

I've done a drunk purchase from ebay, but it was a Boss CS2 compressor and I love it. Sorry

If you are drinking... there is ZERO reason to be near a computer. Drinking is a social thing and you should be socializing IN PERSON.

Question on alcoholics survey: "Do you drink alone?" If you answer yes, you are doing it wrong!

But what if most everyone else on the forum is drinking as well?

At least that way they are socializing, and no one drives drunk, gets into physical altercations, or wakes up with someone they don't remember meeting

Would it make you feel better if I told you I placed my bid via the eBay app for my iPhone while I was at a bar waiting for the next band to start?

What's the brand and model number?

It is the Ernie Ball Keyboard Stereo Volume Pedal. I dont have the model number but I do know it has 25K pots and can be used with a keyboard or electronics with active pickups, which I dont use. I wonder if I can pick up new pots and make it work?

I too have done the drunk ebay purchases... usually it something I've been GASSING for though. The booze just makes it dangerous because I tend to clicky-clicky the mouse in the area of the "BUY NOW" button when I'm drunk! lol

Sorry bout the bad drunk purchase!

At worst, if you want to you can resell it. If it has not shipped, I will usually cancel an auction if the buyer ask me to.

it would not impact my emotions at all.

Drunk eBay purchases can be fun...especially if it's one you've been looking at and just couldn't get the gumption to take the dive.

One of my great buzzed up purchases was an Effects Pedal Boutique SRB808 and now I'm a sober idiot without it.

I'm a bit buzzed right now...hmmmm...maybe eBay is calling!

You can buy replacement potentiometers from Ernie Ball, including the usual 250k and 500k guitar pot values:

If you use the keyboard volume pedal after your other pedals that have a buffer(like Boss) it should work fine. A true guitar volume pedal should go right after the guitar like the volume knob on the guitar before it hits the other pedals with buffers. The buffers change the impedance. I hope this makes since without getting more technical.

Don't feel sad. I use an older boss stereo keyboard volume pedal with 20k pots and it works fine after a buffered pedal

the point of the song being that drinking alone costs him everything...

sometimes irony is lost when we're too hammered to comprehend the message....

There's also the possibility that he and his woman or friends were having drinks and he took a minute to look through ebay. I don't see it as necessarily a life defining moment. No offense to anyone.

Who'd have guessed getbent would be a buzzkill, just kidding , but I saw that post I quoted and immediately made the connection to the "I drink alone" hook.

I really like the song in the video, btw.

Don't feel bad, Mexi, it's just part of the "hazing" process

Or, he means well, but he has a rather curious way of showing it

I made a really stupid drunken e-bay purchase once: Wouldn't it be a great sound to have a LH bridge for my tele, Hendrix etc.? Bought one. Duh. The PU wouldn't fit, & the bridge wouldn't fit, either! I figured all that out the next morning in a panicked condition. Thanks, Angela Instruments, for letting me cancel that one! I have since bought other items from them; good co.

That low impedance vol. pedal should work fine after an efx pedal.
