How easy is it to make a Peavey 2 button floorswitch?

Do you think it would be cheaper to just buy one of these or could it be built for less? I wouldn't think there's much to this.

I'd love to know, too. They still seemed priced pretty high to me.

Do you have any parts laying around? If you had a pedal you no longer use you could just add another button really cheaply.

I think a button cost about $5, if you are building from scratch you need 2 buttons, a jack, a cable and some kind of enclosure. I would think parts would cost at least $20.

I think you would easily be over $30 if you buy quality switches/cable/TRS plug once you add $5-8 in postage onto the parts cost, depending on what kind of enclosure you buy for the switches.

Some of the cheap switches (used in pre-made footswitches and bought from parts suppliers) aren't real reliable. The Peavey footswitches I have owned held up well whereas the reissue style Fender switches use the cheaper Carling stomp switches and I've had to repair about 50% of those, so its not worth skimping if you're going to DIY.

A good, used footswitch is about the same cost.
Are you wanting a DIY footswitch, or trying to save money?

My pre-owned three button unit (below) was $26, incl. shipping.
