I need some help identifying a guitar a friend of mine has. It looks like a Gibson copy to me, made by Morgan Monroe? I've never heard of it, and neither one of us knows anything about these guitars. It was given to him by his uncle. It's actually a pretty nice looking guitar! The neck feels good and the action is decent. From what I can tell, the bridge pickup doesn't seem to work though.

Any information would be greatly appreciated!

Go over to www.vintaxe.com and post your pix up there. Those guys seem to know every obscure guitar out there. They ID'd mine in no time flat.
That is a really nice looking 335. Thanks for sharing.

I stand corrected! After playing around with it for awhile we discovered that everything works! Now we just have to give it a good general cleaning and figure out how to get the pickups adjusted. New strings probably wouldn't hurt either.

The head stock looks like an older Agile model so I will say it's origin is Korean built and should be of excellent quality no matter what the headstock says.

morgan monroe makes nice stuff, but I never Knew they made electrics. They make pretty decent acoustic guitars and mandolins at an affordable price

They could be out of the electric guitar business. The above link goes to their acoustic site with no links anywhere to electric guitars.

Morgan Monroes are pretty popular in this part of the world. Very good medium price blue grass type instruments. Particularly popular is their line of Mandolins. Never seen an electric, but all their other gear is high quality copies. Plenty of stuff on ebay. All their gear is popular with the blue grass crowd for those who can't afford a 2000 dollar Martin or Gibson mandolin.

+1, they make good budget priced acoustic instruments. I would imagine their electrics are (were?) of similar quality.
