Forensic help needed

So I bought this reissue 63 danelectro for $200 used from a shop. It had this little gold sticker I thought was just for style, turns out it was hiding s hole! I am trying to figure out if it's worth worrying about and taking back. I like the guitar and it plays nicely but that hole looks like it would effect something down the road. What do you think happened to this thing?

Is that a truss rod adjustment nut I see on the neck? If so, there's you're answer. Previous owner didn't want to remove the neck to adjust it.

Yes it is lol, what a way to go about it, I wonder if it will effect the guitar (coming out of tune etc)

I'd say no effect, just unsightly...

you could fill it if you want to... but just for cosmetics...

I'd clean up the hole and leave it there. Taking off the neck for a truss rod adjustment is a pain in the neck.

Looks like a good but sloppy move. Time for a sticker of your choice methinks! :-)
