Old Truckin' Song: Anyone know the name and singer of this song

I heard this humorous truckin' song in the 70's and haven't been able to find it on the net. Can someone tell me the name and singer of this song based on the few lyrics I remember. The following lyrics were near the end of the song:

I had a chance to drive the saints to heaven,
But St. Peter heard the stories those Greyhound drivers tell.
They said I drove that rig just like the devil,
So just truck that load of sinners down to ----well,

Doggone must be my truckin' luck.
I'll be truckin' south of heaven,
Won't be no more truckin' up.

Thanks for your help.

I would say Red Sovine but it doesn't like his style

He isn't the right one but thanks for replying. This song was played on a country/western station in Northwest Florida. Maybe it was a regional thing?

For some reason it makes me think of "Pure Prairie League" but I don't think it's them. Probably a regional band.

Thanks for the reply Paul. I know it's not Pure Prairie League. This singer had a strong country accent. I've fed parts of these lyrics into Google but with no luck. The chorus always began with "Doggone must be my truckin' luck" so I thought maybe the song was called "My Truckin' Luck" or "Truckin' Luck" but no luck finding the song or lyrics. Anybody have any suggestions on how to find this song based on the lyrics?

Don't have an answer for you but you can listen to this whilst looking for your song... (loved it when I was a young 'un)

Could it be:

Hank Thompson ‎– That's Just My Truckin' Luck

Looks like it's only available on 7" vinyl...

Here's a couple of places to order it from:
Discogs (http://www.discogs.com/sell/list?release_id=3652090&ev=rb)
MusicStacks (http://www.musicstack.com/album/hank+thompson/that%27s+just+my+truckin%27+luck)

Thanks Frontier9 for the video. I've seen the Hank Thompson song and thought that might be it but couldn't find any lyrics to confirm it and this song isn't on Youtube. The search continues.

I doubt there's another song title in the world with the phrase "My Truckin' Luck" in it. Isn't it worth the 79 cents plus shipping gamble?

Unfortunately, that would include buying a record player.

I can usually take a line and google it with the word "lyrics" and find the title fast, but no luck on this one.

Haven't listened to trucker tunes since I was about 12... this has been fun.

Johnny Horton sung a few with lyrics close to that.. Reminds me of the Battle Of New Orleans.

How about "Trucker's Prayer" by Dave Dudley?

"One day before I turn to dust,
Let me run the wheels clean off a Greyhound bus."

GL Tele, do you know someone with a record player who could burn a digital copy of the single?

I liked this song when I was a kid and my dad always had KCKY on the radio.
