Picked this up off craigslist yesterday. It is a Vista series Squier Jagmaster, built in Japan, first run. A fairly rare guitar, from what I've read. I def feel lucky to have it!

It is in excellent shape for a 15+ year old instrument and its my first 24" scale guitar. I totally dig it already - I think the blue finish totally clashes with the tort pickguard, and I love it. It's built better than any squier I've ever laid hands on (and a fair number of fenders, too).

I'm already considering a pickup change, even though I haven't had much of chance to form an opinion on the stock pups yet. I just don't care much for the look of uncovered humbuckers, and i'm thinking humbucker sized P90s (GFS dream 90 at neck, mean 90 at bridge?). Otherwise, there isn't anything else I would consider changing on it. This feels solid like a MIJ Fender, and I guess it kinda is.

Pretty stoked, thought I'd share. Thanks for reading. :grin:http://imgur.com/a/I1jFX

Man I love the color of that guitar. I would try to find a pearloid pickguard for that baby!! I have a black Squier Jagmaster that my wife secretely bought for me after she saw how much I liked it. If you post any sound clips with it let us know I would love to hear that thing.

Congrats, I have one of these in red and it plays great. The only things I had problems with were the stock bridge and tuners (mine was treated rough before I got it though), and I thought the pickups were kinda weak. Great guitar nevertheless, not many people playing these so it's good to see another one

Nice. Haven't seen a Daphne blue one before. I've got a black one too. I was toying with the idea of putting a pair of BK Missipi Queen humbucker size P90s in it. The stock humbuckers are a bit too hot for my tastes.

I've been trying to find a pearloid pickguard for the jagmaster but I'm not sure if the jazzmasters have the same pickguard measurements.

Instead of yanking those pups, I'd install two push pulls; one for coil tap, the other for out of phase. You'll have every single coil sound you ever wanted.
