Beta testing - NPD Spark drive (TC elec)

- Started beta testing new TC electronic spark drive.

Was looking for a extremely light OD, just a general enhancement for
slightly rock/grit. Normally od1-od2-od3(lead)..

Well, so far it appears to be enticing. Running into DRRI with buckers,
the spark drive on its own has great subtletly. Most Od's can't do
the 0-4 without getting too gritty., this thing handles that.

The surprise was, using the mid and fat switch. I was not even going to
try that, just using the clean position, but, heck, when I want a rock
sound (OD1+od2), this thing does something unexpected. Fat = Marshally
and Mid = Voxy.... It will be hard to choose which, and I dont want to
bend over to flip switch during a set, but, hey, this could be real cool

I will continue testing...just got back from camping, and will dig into it this weekend
and will put more. I am really picky, so we will see where this leads. Tried buckers
1st, since those are the most testy imho.

Presently, I would not use this as an independent od unit, I keep the gain 1-3, just a great little preamp, but that could change. We will see.

(ps. stupid white LED though, I will have to put a piece of lighting paper over)

- After working a little more with it, I would use it as an independent unit...
low gain only, is where it shines...and as a preamp booster to drive
your 2nd gain into the tone zone....

But that is me, others may put drive past 0-3....but, I have other pedals
for that type of gain....

imho..only.......................

Ok. Finally going to get this bad boy on the road this weekend.

One note, I think I want to use the rocker switch to go between vox/marshall..
vox for most stuff, and marshall for heavier.. (mid switch)

I hate bending over, that is what I have pedals for in the first place...
but, we will see.

Congrats..It is a fun stomp....

Tonight I tried a 52 ri (nocasters) and a strat (69ri)

had to beef up gain on spark booster for tele and a little more for clean strat..
but..yea..it is there for those also.

Tonight ran Spark-->redsnapper (for most) light drive on snapper

Did some Arcangels stuff....nailed nice.. using both units combo

Follow up from weekend gig..

Great under pressure...ended keeping it on longer than I wanted to...Fat was
a tad darker live, so I kept to the mid, for buckers, and fat for single coil.

This will be here for a long while ( I hope) until next GAS hits me..

(cousin for the sparkle drive, which I also have)
