practice routine/structure help

hi there!

i seek you guidance.

i am just starting to learn to play the guitar 6 moths ago but i dont know how to practice i mean routine etc . i know the open mayor chords , a few minors and a few rhythm (walts, bolero, ballad). where i am taking my guitar lessons (a folkloric organitation) is acompained oriented so no lead stuff. they use finger style but i want to learn how to use a pick and strum.

I recommend learning the major scale, and trying to pick out a few very easy melodies to learn. Songs like Happy Birthday, Yankee Doodle, or anything else you know well. You can do both of these with your pick. For chords, you might want to start looking at bar chords if you haven't already. As for using a pick and strumming, that shouldn't take you much time at all if you've already been playing 6 months. There are probably some good youtube videos to check out for that, put in something like, "how to hold the pick" "how to strum the guitar" That should get you started.

but what i am looking for is something more specific like :
"in a 1 hour practice you do : 15 minutes of scales , 30 streching ...etc"

It's been said here before, but check out Justinguitar.com. Its a great beginner resource, and he lays out a practice plan just like that.
