Guys...I've been struggling with tingy/rattle/vibration type noises in my new 5f1 amp turned up in mid-volume range. After a very, very thourough investigation of all solder joints and assembly, my initial culprit was the Sovtek 5y3GT, so I replaced it with a GZ34, and it eliminated 80% of the noise. However, I'm still getting noises, which seems like it is from the 6v6. I took out the chassis and placed it above the cab for a "head" type position (vs in the cab/combo), and it seemed to eliminate most all of the noise (oddly enough, a tingy noise comes back when I play D chord on certain strings --weird, but that could be a bad 6v6 tube).
So, I guess my question is, coould I have some issues in the combo set up with the magnetic properties of my speaker with the tubes, causing these harmonic issues? I'm using a Jensen Mod (10"- in a larger cab designed for the 10" speaker). Does the type of speaker or a close distance from the tubes affect this tube rattle/harmonics like this? Is there a shielding I could put between the speaker and the tubes to help?
Any thoughts or ideas here? Thanks so much!
