70's Ibanez Tele?

Hey guys,

The guitarist in my band is probably doing a cash plus swap deal for a 70's Ibanez tele.

He's paying 500 euro plus he's swapping his Godin for it.

Anyone know anything about these guitars?

It's supposedly worth around a grand or more, probably rare enough and hard to get these days too.

Stop him from making mistakes, at the vintage fair those lawsuit Ibanez Fender copy guitars are costing around 350 Euro maximum.

People are using the word "Vintage" to get big amounts of money.

Those ibanez teles have been selling for 700$-800$ recently around here but in my opinion that's too much. These were really nice alternatives to vintage fenders when they were selling for around 400$ but since people have started bumping up their "cult status" the prices have been creeping up to a point where they are no longer such a good deal.

they originally sold for $250 new. In the 90's I spent a whole day calling every music store and pawnshop in 50 mile radius and found a Ibanez thinline tele for $500.
