I've always wanted to build a partscaster, so -inspired by you lot on here- I thought I'd take my first (baby)step today,

I managed to pick this up for a few quid.

I don't have a clue on partscaster etiquette, was this bridge a good place to start?

I'm going to take my time and try to source the best quality parts for the best price possible, so any advice you have I will happily take on board.

Thanking you in advance. :-D

Nothing wrtong with that. Just make sure your body has holes for a vintage Tele bridge.

Even if you decide to go a different route, it will look good hanging on the wall

Another way of saying the bridge is a work of art.

As good as any place to start. Classic 3-brass-saddle Tele bridge.

If you haven't already done so, I'd recommend that you avail yourself of the tdowns drawings of the D-Telecaster that is in the sticky at the very top of this forum. You can take it (pdf version) to a local print shop and have it printed out full size --runs about $5 here in the states, or you can print it on your home printer and tape the sheets together. That will give you some important dimensions you'll need to make sure the various bits you buy for your telecaster will all fit together. (For instance, as fretman 2 mentions, above, you'll need to be sure the body you select has the same spacing for the string through-holes. )

Good luck on your Partscaster!
