Blues fans,
I implore you, or if you would rather, I beseech thee, buy a copy of Junior Watson's new record. It is really a special collection of performances by a seasoned musician in his prime and really hitting his stride. I feels like he has found his unique voice in a way the trims the fat and all unnecessary elements. Leaving the listener with a fresh but familiar musical experience.
The recording elements are all stripped to the basics, and so is Junior's guitar work, subtle and specific.
I way dig.
Hard to find though. The only place I was able to locate it is as follows:
BlueBeatMusic (https://www.bluebeatmusic.com/i)
If you are a blues fan.... don't hesitate.

Hello Hello--

I can't stand Watson! Why? Because in the late 70's and 80's he proved to me that an old cheap guitar made out of plywood and cardboard could sound absolutely brilliant. From that point on we rampaged all over the California area buying up all the unwanted cheapos for $20 a piece. We also got lots of Fender tweed amps [Bassman, Twin, Pro, Bandmaster, Deluxe, etc...] for $125 each.
Thanks for ruining my life, Wats!!

Yeah, anybody that cares about guitar playing should buy up ANYTHING with Wats on it.

Yes,
The quality of the recording really adds to the vibe. I love that it sounds live and spaced out in the room. Such a great way to record. I get so tired of hearing modern recordings with every instrument upfront and crystal clear. You lose the sense of the the band as a whole.
