My opinions on this as a tap tremolo?? I'm not looking for "chop" but just a nice amp like, sign wave, light volume rise & fall. Any opinions?? I'm good in the dirt, verb & EQ area but have been wondering about if for just it's trem.
THANKS!

I had one for a while...the trem was ok. If you're looking for a good tap tempo trem, I'd get a Seymour Duncan Shape Shifter...tons of control and options.

I've had an FDR-1 since they came out. I like mine. I like the reverb and trem on it. The problem I think you may encounter trying to use it for just the 'verb or term is that it's really a OD pedal. I had trouble dialing it back to a true clean tone.
Once I figured this out, my use of the pedal changed (for the better). I liked the verb and trem so much, that i wanted them on all the time (even when not using the OD). I realized I couldn't really do that, so I got a separate tremolo pedal and a delay (no money for a separate reverb pedal yet) and used the FDR-1 for blackface-sounding OD only. It worked out best for me.
If you can dial the Vol/Gain to a point where you are satisfied with the clean tone, then using it as a tap tremolo pedal (with a clean blackface tone) could be your ticket.
Good luck!

Yes...what he said.
I wanted to like mine, but the fake spring noises on the reverb really bothered me...it's like that on the RV-5 too...I've never heard anything but complaints about this...I'm surprised Boss hasn't updated it...the FRV-1 doesn't do that.
