I'm getting a used jaguar with a red tortoise shell pick guard. The color currently is like a daphne blue, and it needs a new paint job badly. I'm thinking a creamy white color. what colors do you guys like?

Go for Fender Lake Placid Blue or go for Gibson Pelham Blue. There was one posted in here earlier with that combination of blue with the red tortoise shell pickguard and block inlays and it was simply stunning!

You could do like everybody did in the 70's, just sand off the cool custom color and just stain the body with kitchen table stain...

I bought a 62 back in the early 80's that someone had painted primer red with a spray can. It was originally sunburst but I decided to have it refinished in white lacquer. After a couple of years it had aged to a vintage cream white. With the tortoise guard it was a really classic look.

I had one with the paint stripped of and lost of clear layers on top, also turtle PG.
Looked nice, next owner painted it back to Olympic White. You could see in the neck pocket that was the original color.

Hop over to the Offset Guitar Forum and go to the New and Reissue subforum. There's a thread there titled "Jaguars Only" or something like that. Lots of pix of various colors to look at. Look at lots of pix ....you'll know what you like when you see it!

Certainly Olympic White with tort is a classic look - that's whaat my AVRI Jazzmaster is, and I like it a lot.

Naturally reliced daphne blue sounds appealing to me.
Id prob leave it alone.

I would not replace a Daphne Blue with a run-of-the-mill Olympic White, which is seen on Jaguars day in and day out. I'd either leave it alone, or have it refinished in a more exciting color, like Sherwood Green, Capri Orange, or Burgundy Mist, and with matching headstock.

My Jaguar is Candy Apple Red, matching headstock and with a mint green guard.

Go all out, there are far too many Blondes and not enough Metallic Green with Flake!
