I'm taking my time with my next purchase, researching, trying out as many as possible. In no big hurry (GAS hasn't got ahold of me too bad).

My only preference looks/feel/soundwise is a maple fretboard. That means lots of Fenders, and a few others.

What are some of your favorite non-fender models with Maple fretboards?

Currently, this one is the most interesting to me, Reverend Club King 290:

Revs are cool.

Too bad my model only came with a rosewood fretboard.

If you don't mind cheap stuff Squier Jag and Jazzmaster variants are maple fretboard.

And don't forget Gibson's torrefied maple fretboards. But they are unfinished.

Some G&L models are pretty tasty looking, definitely. The ASAT thinline looks very interesting.

I love the look of those 70s-style maple Les Paul Customs, a bit out of my price range though.

One of the best playing guitars I own is a USA Charvel San Dimas. Probably not really what you are looking for though. Obviously they come in a 2 pup configuration also. This just played so good that I had to buy it regardless of the single pup, no tone control and the homely flat black finish. Playing this guitar is just effortless.
