I had my Epiphone Sheraton II overhauled at my local tech and just picked it up. It sounds awesome and plays better than ever. In addition to a setup, all of the gold hardware was replaced with better quality components in chrome (was never a fan of the gold hardware), and the switch and jack were replaced. The pickups were already Gibson 57 Classics so I left those alone. Im really pleased with the results, it looks and feels like a new guitar!

Good call. I hate gold hardware. I love the 57 classics too. Good to hear she came back better than ever.

You replaced all the right stuff. Great looking guitar and no doubt great tones as well.

Excellent!!

Not a big fan of 'naked' humbuckers, especially on hollow guitars, but it'll have to do! :-)

I wasn't sure about that at the outset either. The gold covers were removed in the process of switching the hardware to chrome, and the tech recommended that I not replace them with chrome covers because, in his opinion, the pickups sound better naked. I figure I can always install chrome covers later if I want. At the moment the guitar sounds so good I don't want to mess with anything

I hadn't thought of that... naked is way better than gold! Oh well... perhaps you'll get chrome covers with the next upgrade. Because you do know that sooner or later, there will be an upgrade! There is always another upgrade! ;-)

Really nice look. I always find Sheratons a bit fussy with the gold, the tort guard and all those the inlays/binding. That dials it back enough to say quality rather than bling :)
