How to get this TONE!!! (The Strokes)

I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this, but, Here it goes.

The song "The Strokes - Ize Of The World" has a GNARLY guitar solo. But I'm wondering how to get the actual TONE.

Maybe an electroharmonix micro synth? You could get a similar tone without that synthy quality with a little delay and using a wah pedal like a tone control until you get that level of tone you want. The YouTube video isn't great quality so it's hard to tell. I have that cd but I never liked the way Julian delivers his vocals in that song so I don't listen to it frequently. But honestly i would just mess around with your pedals to try to get something similar. Hope it helps.

I think the synthy quality just comes from the use of delay after a smooth fuzz type effect. I'd try a distortion pedal on medium gain running into a fuzz followed by a short, single repeat delay - a little longer than slap-back.
