I don't listen to pop much, so I have been underexposed to this song. Someone uploaded the video in July 2011, but I just heard this song for the first time within the last month. I found the song by googling lyrical phrases, I had never heard the entire thing until I found the video. It's different.

How do you pronounce "Gotye"?

It's an attempt at a phonetic take on the French name "Gauthier."

"Wally de Backer (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gotye)"

He was a drummer in a cool little 60s influenced band called The Basics (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Basics), but that's been kinda put on the backburner while he got all famous'n'sh#t...

I'm not very much into Pop, but that song must be the best popsong of the century. Different, and beautifully arranged. Unfortunately it gets played way too much, so i can't stand it anymore.
