hi my name is john this story i am about to tell is a sad but 100% true story i was living in santa ana Ca. in the early 60s and 70s i was in my prime years of acne and spending more time hanging out with the guys in the neighborhood than actually having a decent girlfriend and a good paying job well i am about finished with my intro here is my story i took guitar lessons from a guy that i hung out with his name is charlie malyska he always was the most popular guy around because he was good on the guitar and played in some decent bands well one day he said he needed some money for school books and told me he wanted to sell me a guitar i said shure how much 75$ he said i handed him the money and he handed me a 1962 blond telecaster in excellent condition i didnt think much of it at the time just another guitar that every body could pick up for the cheap well the case of the guitar said sparrow on it and i thought that was weird so i moved to turlock california and i played that guitar all the time it was sweet i moved into my dads place and he was staying in a a building that looked like a quansit hut i was just leaving the guitar laying around then one day i came to the hut and the guitar was gone and the fender amp cord was dangling from the wall was i pissed well the sheriff said the guy was barefoot so they could not match a shoe print bye bye guitar fast forward i am 60 years old my guitar teacher lives in las vegas teaches school there and he told me the guitar was john kays guitar of stepphanwolf and the sparrow name on the case was the band he was in before he was stepphanwolf he said he knew john kaye and that he gave him the guitar as a gift thats why i got it so cheap well tats my story now to the value of this guitar i am constantly looking for a good spot to puke thinking about loseing that piece of rock history thank you for reading my story i am getting nauses again sincerely john k.
