Jesus Culture Tunestonedr July 11th, 2012, 09:51 AM I really like the tunes JC is giving us...here are a couple we do - thanks for watching! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ywRDrz67e3Q black_doug July 11th, 2012, 10:41 AM I like what they're doing. Finally - a worship band that doesn't lead with an acoustic guitar. 74 Deluxe July 12th, 2012, 12:10 AM Nice. Wish we had a stage like that... I like Jesus Culture "Where You Go I Go", at 4:30 the guitars start sounding like Crazy Horse! Then they bring it right back down. So cool. http://youtu.be/c2U3PU-E32E timbo_93631 July 12th, 2012, 12:31 AM We have been playing "Your love never fails" a bit lately, good tune that one! Lyrics always hit home. here's a linky to the vid of the version we are playing: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IoezWBPGRAc black_doug July 12th, 2012, 12:43 AM We have been playing "Your love never fails" a bit lately, good tune that one! Lyrics always hit home. Yep, we did it last Sunday. One of my new favourites. It's by Chris McClarney. SoVeryTired July 13th, 2012, 06:33 AM If talking about "One Thing Remains"... ;) We do that, but tend towards the Bethel version. But maybe we're talking about a different song as it's actually by Brian Johnson, Christa Black and Jeremy Riddle. The JC version of 'Holding Nothing Back' has become a very firm favourite of our congregation - we'll be sinign it this Sunday. jb12string July 13th, 2012, 03:26 PM If talking about "One Thing Remains"... ;) We do that, but tend towards the Bethel version. "One Thing Remains" is a different song, I thought that is the one that we were talking about too, until I watched the vid... Steven70 July 13th, 2012, 08:09 PM We're doing "Rooftops" by Jesus Culture in church tomorrow. TelecasterSam July 13th, 2012, 11:30 PM Great job. I can't imagine the original being any better than that! tonedr July 15th, 2012, 03:05 AM Thanks for all the posts & discussion....greatly appreciated! Tele-beeb July 15th, 2012, 10:18 PM They are currently top plays for me... Some of the guys from the Praise Team and myself went to see them in Nashville recently... they are the real deal... We do: You Won't Relent as an instrumental in quiet times and Your Love Never Fails is a regular fun one to do... I want to do Awaken Me WideAwake July 16th, 2012, 09:14 AM We just started doing Your Love Never Fails. Great song. tonedr July 17th, 2012, 07:45 AM Thanks for the posts! themandolinguy July 17th, 2012, 11:43 AM I'm learning Burning Ones right now. mrboson July 17th, 2012, 02:46 PM Our MD/WL keeps several of the JC band tunes in our rotation. The congregation really enjoys them. I get to do the various signature leads and riffs  The other say one of the teens came up afterwords and said I really slay the lead guitar in Your Love Never Fails (she is a Jesus Culture expert). I was pretty bummed, I thought I had done it right. Later my daughter informed me that it was actually a compliment. BTW, there is some other great music that comes out of Bethel. If you like JC, check out Brian & Jenn Johnson, and check out Bryan & Katie Torwalt TeleMark85 July 17th, 2012, 05:30 PM We played Dance with me on Sunday evening and everyone loved it! Great fun to play too! Rick Towne July 18th, 2012, 01:46 AM We do several of the songs but have to put some life in the time; "Where You Go..." is too much like a dirge. It works better with a little syncopation. tonedr July 18th, 2012, 11:58 AM thanks for the posts - good stuff! HipWorshipLeade August 1st, 2012, 03:29 PM I actually went up to Redding last summer and met all these guys during the worship school they put on. They are all so down to earth and some of the coolest people I've met. I was able to sit down with a couple of them and hang out during the music video recording for their "Loft Sessions" (I know that's Bethel Music, but they used a couple of JC's musicians in the videos) But yeah, they are cool people. Duncas August 9th, 2012, 06:18 PM we've got a youth conference tomorrow, im playing the lead for JC's Awaken me. its an awesome riff and people love it SixShooter August 15th, 2012, 12:43 PM I listen to KLOVE and another local based Christian station quite a bit and I have never ever heard Jesus Culture played. But then I hear everyone in this forum talking about them constantly. What gives? BTW, on my urging we are playing Your Love Never Fails next week as a prelude. My church tends to be a little musically conservative (though we play all kinds of stuff) so I will be curious as to how well it is received. I'm sure they won't hate it- I just hoping they love it as much as I do. Which JC song should we do next? I should add that we don't do the long drawn out Hillsong type songs. Tele-beeb August 15th, 2012, 11:14 PM "You Won't Relent" and "Awaken Me" are both good in their own right... |
