I've got an '08 American standard strat, and a couple years ago I put a hot rails in the bridge... It was cool then but now I'm not liking it so much as I've kinda changed musically. What pickups would be good for country, 90s through current stuff? I'm playing through a series 1 budda sd30 212.

I am looking hard at the Zexcoils for my next Strat build, and it is for country and blues. (I pull from the styles of the 70's to 90's Austin pickers like Waylon, Jesse Taylor, David Grissom, SRV, JLV, Denny Freeman, Derek O'Brien and 90's Nashville cats such as Kenny Vaughan, Mike Henderson and Ray Flacke with heavy doses of EC, Robbie Robertson, Dickey Betts and Lowell George and the California Roys, Nichols and Buchanan, and of course, Don Rich.) So I think this set should do all the clean classic to hot country stuff really well.
This is what I am doing:
Neck--Zex 5+
Middle-Zex 2
Bridge-Zex Fat Tele
Wiring:
G&L Legacy-style with treble and bass controls and then run the tone to the volume pot's output, aka '50's style' with no treble bleed. Then I'll use a pull switch on the middle tone pot to kick in the neck with the bridge like a Tele, or all three if I want.
I may also install an Alembic Strat-O-Blaster ala Lowell George, but on the fence about this...
Anyway, I am pretty much sold on the Zexcoil stuff and Scott is a great guy to deal with.

Never heard of zex before, I'm gonna check out some D.Allen pups though. I just gotta get this strat back to sounding like a real guitar lol she was set up for more dirty riffs a la southern metal.
