Materials Exchange?

I was going though some stuff that was in my garage recently and came across these nice aluminum rods. They are about 3/16ths diameter, and nicely machined. I thought to myself, "man, they would make a great set of tele saddles!" Then I came back to reality and realized that I can barely drill straight holes in wood, let alone metal. Then I got to thinking (I know risky business). I know that there are several individuals who could easily make them into saddles here, and would probably appreciate the raw materials.

This place is such a great resource because everyone is generous and accommodating when sharing ideas. I bet that we could be equally democratic managing a honor based materials trade. I know that oftentimes, I find myself needing materials or a part, but not wanting to pay $10 shipping every time. I bet others feel the same way. I know that I would be happy to offer up these rods in hopes of getting a fretboard blank or such in return.

What do you guys think? Worth setting up?

Sure...I think it's a good idea.

So maybe we should do it at a specific time? I LOVE swap meets! I came across some other material that would probably be useful. Sheet stainless steel which looks to be the right gauge for a vintage style bridge.

Alright, let's get this moving. If anyone wants the aluminum rods, pm me. I expect nothing in return.

I will post up the stainless stock tomorrow.

Maybe we could contact an armin and see if a sub actors could get set up for trading parts?
