Warmoth Neck in need of finish?

Just bought a rosewood neck with the "finished" option from Warmoth

says this on it

"warranty void if used
without hard finish
oils are not satisfactory"

Fretboard has a great feel to it IMO but has the texture feeling of your bedside nightstand.

Is this okay to install or should I at least put a decent finish on it?

Here's a look at the front, sorry for the low quality camera :/ don't have a digital laying around

I'm a 'rook' so what do you guys think?

Thanks a ton

The finish requirement doesn't apply to Rosewood. I think they mention this on the site somewhere. Rosewood is naturally oily and is difficult to finish. One of the "benefits" to Rosewood is that it can be left unfinished and therefore give you that raw feel. You said you got the "finished" option? So the maple is finished correct? Then you're good to go. I believe the disclaimer is on all their necks.

Fantastic, less work for me. One step closer to blaring this thing through a tube amp :D

I'm with you! I've been waiting to finish my guitar for a while now... got the body loaded and waiting to go! Waiting on a very similar neck from Warmoth as well.

You may want to just shoot them an email of phone call to make sure... wouldn't want you just taking my word on it.

The disclaimer is stamped standard on all Warmoth necks that require a finish. If yours got a factory Warmoth finish then it doesn't need anything else to maintain warranty coverage.

It would appear your fretboard is rosewood, but from the photo the neck itself looks like maple.
