A two part question

When I play a Tele I pretty much always use the bridge position. I am wanting to change out the Fender noiseless bridge pickup on my American deluxe. If I just change out the bridge and not the neck, it won't have any affect on the the new bridge pup will it?( assuming I stay on the bridge pup only position). It doesn't seem like it should but I thought would check here first.

The 2nd question is about the right pup to use. I know this question has been discussed in this forum many times but I would appreciate any input . could get.

I am looking for a versitile pup, tons of twang. I have a bunch of favorite tele players but Bill Kirchen is at the top of my list. The Tele body is ash.

Thanks in adavance for your advise.

One position on the switch is that position only, unless the other pup has extreme magnet pull. Maybe a Bill Lawrence L-290-T or a L298-T?

Wait...What do you mean about extreme magnetic pull? The field might affect the field of the bridge pickup?

Before you change pickups, try a low capacitance cable. It will raise the resonant frequency and let more highs through. You might then hear the twang you seek.

+1 on the noiseless Bill Lawrence's, but you need a non-magnetic bridge plate for proper operation. As to which ones have more twang, I'd think an L200TL might be tops on that, but it might not be high enough output for the neck pickup. Between the other two, I think the L298T is fatter in the lower mids, so it might be less twangy based on that. You can call Becky during the day to confirm that. You might need to call several times. They have a lot going on.

I'm not sure what pots they use with the Fender noiseless pickups. They might be different ohms than the pots you would use with traditional single-coil Tele pickups.
