Little Ricky July 9th, 2012, 03:56 PM Wilco is playing in Cooperstown on the grounds of the Ommegang Brewery, and they are offering overnight camping, but...
No umbrellas, no pets, no glass, no coolers, no outside food, no fires, etc.
Has anyone ever been to a show here? How good / bad is it?
Little Ricky July 30th, 2012, 12:16 PM Just wanted to recommend this venue if you see any bands you like on their schedule. Even with the rain this weekend, there wasn't any major mud, there were enough port-o-johns for the number of attendees, and the beer was tasty. Good sound system as well.
As for all the rules, they weren't so strict. Alcohol in the parking lot was ok, just no glass in the camping area, which is a perfectly fine policy as far as I'm concerned. And they didn't mind umbrellas or coolers, etc.
BradKM July 31st, 2012, 11:24 AM This isn't complete without a description of the Wilco show itself!
hekawi July 31st, 2012, 12:28 PM nice poster, though

greggorypeccary July 31st, 2012, 02:07 PM It was Wilco. I can guarantee, even without hearing it, it was an awesome show.
Their set at Newport on the 27th was killer!
gypsyseven July 31st, 2012, 02:14 PM I wish i get a chance to see Wilco....missed them last November and still can΄t forgive me for not going there...
Little Ricky August 1st, 2012, 02:03 PM I was with a lady friend, who distracted me during much of the main set, but we did get down front for a song or two, but then a guy who fainted was carried past us, and my lady friend, being a nurse, followed to make sure he was ok, then we grabbed some food, and by the time we hooked up with our friends in their lawn chairs, the set was over! Luckily, Wilco did about six encores, so I was able to finally sit still and enjoy the music for at least a half hour. Really though, as a musician, I like being close to the stage and watching, and I didn't get enough of that at this one, so I can't really make any good comments on the show, but overall, I think they were good. Tweedy plays the crowd well (without kissing too much heiny).
greggorypeccary August 1st, 2012, 09:06 PM Wow, it would take a hell of a lot more than that to distract me at a Wilco show!
You must go see them again Ricky.
majorbugout August 1st, 2012, 09:23 PM Hey, I was there. Great show. The weather was a little funky but not the worst. Excellent beer. I guess I broke the law by bringing an umbrella, oh well. Glad they didn't allow pets and glass. I camped up at Glimmer Glass State park, so no complaints about camping, but then again I can't think of to many venues that allow fires. I do agree that saying you can't bring your own water is just inhumane, and if you can't bring in food then you should really have more than four small food vendors. Oh yeah and I really enjoyed Lee Ranaldo's set

wow
. (rather than start a new thread)
so, last night I drop my mother-in-law off and as I pull into my neighborhood, I put WPRB (Princeton College Radio) on
it was probably at about the 2:48 mark or so, because I thought it was an instrumental
so, I pull into my driveway and listen
.
and I sat there, wondering who the hell is this
. Next song comes on
I go inside
turn the radio on and listen
after a while I had to go outside (so my wife would not hear me acting like a kid calling a radio station) and Mickey tells me its Wilco (highly recommended for the old guys like me that are not very familiar with them)
just awesome, sitting in your car at 11:20PM on a gorgeous night listening to good music
