Oh, I'm sure you could get the hardware replated. Go ahead and get it, I'll watch.

Did you catch that one little place where he describes a "teeny weeny little 2/5 inch crack at the neck joint"? I guess people who'd buy such a thing are more interested in the collector value rather than worry about structural failure!

Well, I would buy it, but does it come in another colour? The free postage makes it tempting though!

The extra $.99 on the BIN puts it over the limit for me....

Call me crazy... but I like the headstock... in a kitchy Supro / Teisco kinda way.

Yeah, I thought that was a generous gesture, too. As far as color goes, yes, it does come in another color. Any one you choose to put behind it.

I did too. There were a bunch of these on some very old Ibanez guitars back in the day. They were built exactly like a one piece tele neck and the headstock is big enough to reshape to a tele. Not that I ever did that...............more than half a dozen times . Heck, who knew those old Ibby's would become collector's items

I'm with you, Mike. It's enough of a departure from "the usual" without looking weird. Very Starfire-iffic.

I love the visible shim (looks like some sort of packaging?), and the trem looks interesting.

I'm not really doubting the authenticity here, but wouldn't even a prototype have a serial number? And I'm wondering why there's no "Fender" on the WRHBs...

Thanks for posting.

I was going to buy this, but then I took a Squier to the knee.

I like the body shape a lot. Who's going to be the first to make one?
And when we all do start cranking these out like Telemasters, what do we call them? "Beachcaster?"

Man, that headstock is ugly. Its like the bastard offspring of a Gibson Thunderbird and a CBS Strat.

I like the Beach Boys connection, but not everything that has a Beach Boys connection is necessarily good... Charles Manson, etc.

IIRC, Fender made a one off lucite strat as well.

My son bought a blue Lucite guitar a couple of weeks ago but didn't pay anywhere near that for it, I think it was less than $200.00. I don't remember the design but one thing for sure, it is very heavy and one song would make you want to change guitars. I am going to build him a shadow box for it with lights behind the body to hang in his music room.

Personally, I would like to see a contour map of this guitar. It would be a really neat build, whether out of lucite or wood. I might re-design the headstock though...

Looks like some sort of mutation of the Mustang tremolo.
