Celemony's running a half-price special on a Melodyne upgrade from Essential to Editor for half-price during July ($149 vs. $299) ... just a heads-up for those who got the free pee-wee edition with Pro Tools (as I did) and want to extend your capabilities.
I was bemoaning my brokeness in not being able to afford the offer, then lucked into a gravy gig last night that covered the cost ... downloaded it this morning, spending the afternoon watching tutorials. Believe me, it's far more than AutoTune with blobs!

Yessir! It's gonna take a little time to learn all the new tools, but well worth it because it goes so far beyond simple pitch correction.

I use mine as an add on to Logic and it is a great little tool, yes, it does a lot and I think if you just go through it a little at a time you can grasp it, it's one of those great 'morning after' tools when something slipped by the night before that you didn't notice.

Yeah, that's what I'm trying to do: master one technique at a time. I don't care for the "automatic" correction approach but prefer to work on one note at a time — I have a wildly careening vocal vibrato that sometimes drifts, and sometimes it's nice be able to tame that. The most marvelous thing about the new version is the ability to edit chords! For instance, if you hit a G7 and meant to hit a G6, you can move the 7th without having to retake. With the old version, I could move single notes and slice them, but not much else.
