Looper cabling options

I'm pretty keen to get my pedals off from under my feet (and the feet of the punters at pub gigs who insist on getting a bit close with their overflowing pint glasses). I want to have maybe three or four pedals from my board stored safely next to my amp and control them with a looper strip.

BUT I definitely don't want eight guitar cables going from the looper strip back to the pedals - that would be a lot of cables to clutter up the small areas I often have to play in.

Has anyone tried something like a stage loom / multicore cable for this? Maybe hard wiring one into the looper strip, with jack plugs just at the pedal end?

Sorry of this is a daft question, but would a multicore that's usually used for balanced XLRs be adaptable as a cable for something like this?

Check out the Pedalsnake. This way you can run your pedals, and power from one cable.
