They started in 1968 in Oakland, played the Fillmore for some time, recorded a lot over the years...GREAT sound, GREAT singer! Still doing it...

Great singer, who was overshadowed by Janis Joplin back in the day. Lydia lived and still sounds great today. We all know what happened to Janis. In hindsight, I now think she was vastly overrated and a product of her time. Not the most musical of singers by any stretch of the imagination, more a primal screamer, and had she lived, probably would have been eclipsed by any number of other female singers in the same genre.

I'm just glad to see people from that time still working and still enjoying it. The audience loved her, too.

From that era, I also loved Tracy Nelson and Mother Earth. I saw them once with a horn section and a pedal steel player. That was quite a night. She's still out singing, too.
