TDPRI July 3rd, 2012, 06:59 PM I was going to revive the "Lets see your bike" thread from last year -- but found that a lot of the photos were missing. So, I'm starting a new one and it gives me a chance to show my current bike. I got it last year at the end of the tour and have put 3,400 miles on it so far. I really like it -- it's a Felt Z4 -- all carbon with Ultegra group on it.
This is an old photo from last July. There have been plenty of adjustments and changes since, including a new saddle, tape, bag, wheels and tires since then. But you get the picture.
w3stie July 3rd, 2012, 08:13 PM My Trek Madone 5.2. First carbon bike and boy is it an improvement on what I've had previously. I can't see myself needing anything better any time soon. Well, maybe new saddle and lighter rims at some stage ...

Bikersluggo July 6th, 2012, 02:04 PM This things probably getting close to 6 or 7 yrs old. Still satisfied. I like the compact chainrings. It's the engine that needs improving!

I've posted this photo too many times but it's the only one I have.
My carbon Specialized when it was new, about 6 years ago.
Now has different rims, pedals, saddle and will get a new drivetrain when the snow flies. It has about 14k on it now.

RogerC July 16th, 2012, 09:44 AM I'm just now getting into cycling at 39 and picked up my first bike on Thursday. It's a 2004 Specialized Roubaix Elite. I'm pretty excited because I got a pretty good deal off CL. I've got a really good friend (also a tele player) who's been riding for a few years now and is one of the faster riders in town. He's been helping me to track down a nice bike because I wanted to do something to get back into shape. I've got about 30 lbs to lose and figured this would do it.
The bike is stock with aluminum frame, carbon front and rear forks, full Ultegra group, and shimano wheels. It really is a joy to ride, and I've been getting up at 4:30 every morning to get about an hour ride in before work. It's getting pretty addicting for me.
Here's a stock pic, but I'll try to get some real shots up later.

reflected July 16th, 2012, 09:56 AM I probably wouldn't win the Tour de France with it, but it sure looks cool ;)

Hey Roger congrats!. That's a great bike.
I started riding in March 2011 and actually rode 3,000 miles the first year. The thing I found though was that I am more fit but even with 300 hours of riding and 3000 miles under the tires I only lost about 14 lbs.
Everyone tells me that I have to diet to really lose any weight. I was hoping that going from little exercise to a lot more exercise would be enough -- it's not.
I'm still riding 6 hours a week -- about 80 miles a week and my goal is to reach 4,000 miles this year.

TDPRI July 24th, 2012, 10:59 AM Way to go Blimpy! Great bike too and with full campy. Wow.

Thanks. Yeah, I've definitely been a lot more conscious of my diet as well. I've drastically cut my caloric intake, so I'm hoping to have all the pieces together to make this work. The good part is that my wife and younger son really enjoy cycling as well. As a matter of fact, my son pretty much asks every day if we can go ride. He'll be 8 on saturday and is buying his own bike. he wants to do 20 miles that day, so we're getting a bunch of our cycling friends together for a big ride.
