Pickup war!! Bridge vs Neck

So here's the problem:

I have a Mexican standard tele, all stock. I never use the bridge pickup and like the neck pup. I have a choice of what to get for an exam reward: SD Vintage mini humbucker (the one in the Hot Rod) for the neck or SD little 59 for the bridge.

The problem with getting the mini hum is that I already like my neck pup and also I would have to cut my pg to accommodate it. I am also worried that I may be unable to make my guitar sound £70 better than it does already.

But if I got the little 59 there is the guarantee that it would be better than my current bridge pickup. However I may STILL not use it, and would have wasted £70.

I do not have another electric guitar after selling my SG.

Can anybody resolve this problem? Cheers.

Sounds like to me you're making an argument for replacing the bridge.

I thought this was going to be a poll. On certain guitars, like my LP, I spend way more time on the neck than the bridge. On others, like my Rick, not quite as much. But as I get older, I'm more and more a neck guy these days. It's almost the only setting I use on my Strat (well, that and pos. 2).

change the bridge, easy question. Get something that makes you happy where you are not already happy and leave the neck alone.

This is what I was thinking, but I'm unsure whether it's that particular pickup I don't like or the bridge position in general.

You could go to the guitar shop and plug in some teles with better bridge pups than the stock Mexican std. Am std, baja, am. Special for a little hotter. Anything you try and like, this forum is a great resource for what pickup is in what guit
