Need advice on repairing a chipped finish...

I built this guitar...
133197
...and while setting it up, my amp stand fell over and chipped the finish. I probably had 6-8 layers of shellac, and then 8-10 layers of clear nitro. There's a pretty deep chip now along the edge. What's the best way to build that up to level with the rest of the finish??

With this guitar I get to do my first nitro finish, and my first repair...all in one!

Is the color intact?

Yes...the wood was dyed and it appears that the color wasn't affected.

Drop fill. A little at a time with lacquer. When dries, sand with with some 1500 grit to shape it out. Then you cut a hole in a piece of cardboard, hover it over the repair and spray with clear to blend it all in. Then buff it back shiny.

k...that sounds like a good plan. Would it be ok to drop fill with shellac first, then bring on the lacquer??
