Hi guys just a quick question. I have an Epiphone Les Paul Standard and after about six months of hard playing found that most of the chrome on the PUP covers, bridge and tailpiece has corroded and started to wear off... It looks kinda good and vintage but is getting worse on the bridge... Any suggestions as to why this is happening and what good replacements parts I could use. Ta in advance...

If you give the guitar a good wipedown with a clean, lint-free cloth, that should help prevent further corrosion. Usually that's caused by sweat, although humidity can also be a factor.
Welcome to TDPRI, by the way!

Thanks for that, I do sweat a lot when playing and do generallywipe it down but not very carefully or too intensely. Will try that... Thanks for the reply...

Eat less salt.
Otherwise, enjoy the accumulating mojo.

Oh hey, you could try drinking a little chrome polish before playing!
Kidding, of course.

Rory had a rare blood type that made his sweat extra corrosive. Little known fact. Maybe you have the same blood type?
That Strat was monumental in my wanting to learn guitar back when I first saw it in the 80s.

Didn't know that... Will do a geek check on his blood group... Maybe it's Celtic sweat, me being Welsh and him being Irish and we both wear plaid shirts... There the similarities end. What an amazingly wonderful guitar player and a really genuine fella as well. RIP Rory, much missed by many...
