Does anyone make a Broadcaster pickup in a humbucker housing?

Well? I've been looking around for something like this and I'm coming up empty-handed, but maybe there's still something out there that I've missed.

You can get an adapter ring that will allow you to mount an actual tele pickup in a humbucker route.

Yeah, it might not look right in a semi-hollow.

I'm intrigued by what's out there. Would you be willing to share any product info you have?

This would purely be a custom wind... but if there is enough interest, I could make this a production pickup quite easily.

Aesthetically, the outside appearance would be very similar to our HB P90 'Topless', but with fender style rod magnet pole peices in place of the screw pole peices.

The coil construction would be identical to a tele brodcaster pup, (coil height, type of wire used, polepeices, baseplate material, ect) but would be housed in HB sized flatwork and mounting hardware.

This is exactly what I was thinking. For example the GFS Dream 90 is essentially a Strat bobbin inside a humbucker cover so using a Tele bobbin shouldn't be a problem I'm guessing.

I for one would be very interested in something like that Mike.

That is an amazing idea!

Too many of us, naturally on this site, but maybe guitar players in general would love a true single coil tone in a humbucker route without having to get a whole new guitar.

I can't justify another guitar and so far I have put a push pull on dual humbucker guitar and have kept it on that setting. There's a lot to be said for that organic, vintage single coil tone with all that high end, and 60Hz hum, too. I am sure you can also make this with a stacked option, too but I would probably be like most (or some) here and would like a straight ahead single coil.

I know the angle of a single coil tele pickup, a bolt-on build, ash/alder body, and maple neck with maple or rosewood fretboard are all factors that would make it a tele-like sound, but those proper magnets and winds would probably put any humbucker guitar 95% percent of the way there sound wise.

I put Tele p/ups in HB routs and they give a great tone str8 across. Great idea to have it in a more aesthetic, protective and more easily height adjustable housing.

Cool. Thanks for your response on this.

I like this idea because one wouldn't be "stuck" with one brand and it promotes more experimentation on the user end.
