Lawson July 1st, 2012, 06:46 AM Hi there :) Spending this morning working on my second "draft" take of my new composition.
It's a laidback 60/70's inspired song, but this is only a concept sketch.
I bought a new mic to record this, and a externall soundcard.
How does the concept sound to you? I would love some criticism and feedback!!

CHEERS!
(P.S Im not the greatest singer, LOL! Just trying to give an idea)
mal paso July 1st, 2012, 09:37 AM Hey Lawson,
I think it sounds pretty darn good! Nice and catchy, cool vibe to it.
I even like your voice!
My only criticism would be to lose the hihat, I guess. Or put some reverb on it.
Ummm, and make it longer! You could probably do 5-6 minutes here, maybe with a psychedelic bridge with some of that tasty tremolo?
thunderbyrd July 1st, 2012, 12:59 PM sounds pretty good. you can make what you've got there longer by adding an intro and by putting some space between the verses. but overall, a decent beginning. but it really sounds sorta "calm before the storm" to me. know what i mean?
bunny 7 July 1st, 2012, 07:12 PM I like your concept, it's very 60's in feel. Keep at it. Let it flow and develop. I like the guitar part a lot.
It sounds like it could be in a movie soundtrack.
telefunken July 1st, 2012, 07:55 PM I hope this doesn't sound mean, but...................
1st listen, I didn't "Get" it, sounded kinda odd
2nd listen,it sounded like a whole new songs and I loved it...........strange?
Make it longer, and get that hihat off the front of the speaker(my uncle used to say that in the studio when he wanted more reverb on something)
Lawson July 1st, 2012, 09:20 PM You people are awesome! Thank you for the great support!
I know the hihat sounds lame, but it's only there to establish a rythm.. Kind of experimenting.
Is there anyone with a drumkit and some time on their hands? I really would love if someone could record a psychedelic, but simple drum loop, going from verse to chorus? That would make my week!!
mal paso July 1st, 2012, 09:41 PM Lawson, if I had one, I would totally do it!
What did you use? You could prolly pick up a used drum machine for cheap, and do your own thing. Or even just shaker and tambourine?
Lawson July 1st, 2012, 09:51 PM Of course! A shaker! That'll really compliment this laidback style, at least for the verses. Maybe a more agressive shaker on the chorus.
What did you use?
I downloaded a pack of free drum samples online. Worthless, really..
tele salivas July 2nd, 2012, 02:57 AM I have both shaker and tombourines for just the above reasons.
