Make your prediction for the ultimate winner today and we'll close this thread in a few days. Then we can look back at the end of the tour.

I'm going with... Cadel for the repeat. What do you say?

Wiggins. Evans has a great shot, but Team Sky looks stronger to me than BMC at the moment.

I'd like to see Cadel repeat, but barring accidents and misfortune, (and drug scandals!) I'm also going for Wiggins. He has the stronger team. Not sure how he'll do on the time trials after weeks in the mountains though.

I'm going for Cadel Evans - but Wiggins is looking good for the win. It's a looong race though.

The scenery in the Alps always makes me feel like I'm living in the wrong country.

I'd really like cadel to in, but wiggins is my pick to take it out this year...I think it's his time, and he's got a great team behind him. Wiggins seems to have had some bad luck in previous tours, hope he has a good run this time

I'll pick Ryder Hesjdal - just rooting for my fellow Canuck.

Wiggins has been on a roll lately though (pun not intended).

I'll throw out Tony Martin as my runner-up choice.

Cheers,
Geoff

May the best man win!

Really, I don't know the names of any of the racers, but I probably will by the time it's all done. I don't follow bicycle racing until the Tour. I have a freind who works for the Cycling Federation in Colorado Springs. Maybe I'll ask him who to watch out for.

Andreas Klöden.

The guy that finishes third.

The original winner plus second will be disqualified for using doping.

Just found out that Martin was involved in a crash in yesterday's stage and is now almost 4 and a half minutes back. Oh well. Is it too late to change to Gesink?

And, I promise to learn how to spell Hesjedal properly by the end of the Tour!

Cheers,
Geoff

Well Hesjedal is out, and Gesink was also involved in one of the crashes yesterday and lost some time. Basically, it appears to be bad luck to picked by me.

Cheers,
Geoff

seeing as though wiggins has picked up the yellow too early imo, and will suffer the dogma associated with this, Im gona say Cadel :)

Wiggins seems to have his ducks in a row but like you said, two weeks is a long time to wear the yellow.

Whoever dopes more... Armstrong proved that Along with the Basketball and baseball players, the olympic jocks and the rest who have destroyed most sports with their greed and desire for celebrity vs good clean sportmanship and honor.

The old guys don't lie and we don't stand cheating. We used to see Yogi and Mickey and Whitey play and I recall clearly when they won in 1962, baseball was king then... then the long drought for NY. But they never juiced to be big shots.

I think virtually all the bike guys do... so I don't bother to pay any attention to druggies.

Note: edited
My knee jerk reaction above from yesterday > probably over the line for here. My apologies for being too frank, it is a borderline baiting thing and not my intention. I used to love the bikes, just too sad that it has deteriorated.
