Anyone made it to a Phish show this summer, or any time in the past?

I started going to Phish shows in 1990.

I feel old.....

But then again, I saw some great shows when they totally rocked and were actually doing new stuff all the time.

I'm glad they're still out there and they do sound great, but it just doesn't compare...

They've never done it for me. Good players and all, but their music has never moved me. Same feelings about the DMB.

Big Phan here. I couldn't make the Riverbend show but I plan on making the trip for the 2 nights in Noblesville, IN (great venue). I've seen numerous shows in the past, hopefully more in the future. Listening to their last show on the phish app now.

I been to my share. Only catching a handful of shows this summer, including Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in SF and at Dick's Sporting Goods Park outside of Denver. Hit up Tahoe and Denver last year. I thought the shows at Dick's last year were great. And I love the OceloDoc that Trey got in 2010. I was at the shows at the Greek in Berkeley when he busted it out for it's public debut.

I saw them last summer and thought it was a great show. I've heard good things about their current tour, too bad they aren't coming to the Detroit area again. I would love to see them again.

Saw them last night at Deer Creek and was totally not prepared for how much they have improved over the past couple tours. They were relentless. Tons of energy and VOLUME. Never heard them this loud ever. It totally suits them.

They were all just killing it last night. I haven't been that blown away by them in well over a decade.

They have definitely redeemed themselves for the mess that was 2001-2006.

I haven't seen Phish since the Clifford Ball. 3 days and 100,000 people was too much and I stopped going to shows.

I meant to catch 'em on the last tour through Raleigh.

Did you see that show greggorypeccary?

This isn't who it would be if it wasn't who it is...

I caught both CLT & Raleigh in '10 & '11. Good shows, good friends, good times
(but not 91 - 97.....).

I looooooooove The Grateful Dead.

One of the reasons why is because I love so many of the artists that influenced them.

But - I like no band influenced by The Grateful Dead.

Phish on and have fun ! (or is that "phun" ?)

I loved early 90's phish!!!
St Louis Fox Theatre 1993 was the best phish show I witnessed among a few other highlights.
I was and always have been more into the Dead.
I am a huge Trey fan but just don't listen to much.

A pity you've never had the chance (I assume) to become acquainted with the Outerspace Band. Definitely influenced by the Dead and had many of their tunes in their 400+ song repertoire in their fulltime touring days, they nevertheless found their own voice through the 4 song writers in the band. Diverse influences, from New Orleans, Motownish to Chicago Blues and whatnot, the emphasis has always been on danceability and the songs, with the audience singing along from the dance floor. Although they can jam with the best of them, most of the really extended jams were left behind a long time ago. BTW, I'm talking about a band that formed in 1968, played the White House in the '70s and is still in existence today. Especially since they have always been centered in the Northeast (living in Wendell, Mass in their glory days, a town described as the hippest on the East Coast), I was surprised to see Phish rise to prominence when Space could never really crack that nut. Just goes to show what a huge role serendipity and happenstance play in the unfolding of life.

At any rate, you may well have liked Outerspace, especially if you had a chance to join them on the dance floor.

Not 9600 baud mind you, but early IE....

Phish-head early use of internet networking didn't hurt them in the least. One of the first bands I heard of on the net in the late 80's, and seeing their popularity without hearing a single note.
More power to them - I've been to a few shows, early and later in the 90's; and yes, they do know how to perform.

I saw them once. They played one song I knew- Misty Mountain Hop by LZ

They don't do anything for me. There is only one Grateful Dead and that ended when JG died.

Amen !!!
Exactly the way I felt when JG passed. My touring days ended. I can't even listen to any of the remaining members bands. It sounds ok but it makes me very uncomfortable for some reason.
