I recently bought a 2006 highway 1 off of Craigslist. It sounds pretty nice I'm pleased. Anyhow, before I bought it, the pickups were upgraded to fender nocasters. The thing I'm confused about is that theres 4 channels, obviously bridge, bridge/neck, neck, then what? Dude I bought it from mentioned something of a hum canceling channel? Does anybody have anymore info in this?

I read something about the neck/bridge selection either being in "series" or "parallel." Basically, it's not hum-cancelling, but it gets more power from the pickups being in series.

Thanks for the info. I just couldn't find anything about a 4 channel telecaster anywhere and I though that was kinda weird.

Welcome to the forum Colin. The series sound would be fatter and louder than the other 3 positions.

Of course there are myriad other ways to get a 4th sound from a tele.

I think that pup set is RWRP -- which explains the "hum cancelling". So do they cancel the hum in positions 2 and 4?

Ya the 2nd position is quiet. However 4th position is almost like the pickups are overdriven. Waaaay louder than 2nd position. ALSO, does anybody have any opinions on the highway 1 series. I watched a YouTube review, where some grouchy old man said it was a terrible guitar, and that is a disposable guitar and bla bla bla. However my experience with it is that it's a great guitar. He made reference to the lack of weight compared to an American standard, which is true. Anybody got anything good to say about my highway 1?

Btw just do you can get an idea of what I'm runnin, it's a 06' American highway 1, an original 1971 super reverb, which I bought from a friends mom who used to play accordion through it in a polka band, then I have my trusty bd-2 boss blues driver.

Hey Colin,
Nothing wrong with the Highway 1 series. You'll find opinions are like a$$h@les - every body's got one! HIghway 1s have their own characteristics but they are definitely a tele- especially with a set of nocasters on it!
Sounds like you got great rig there, Enjoy!
