Bravo! What a cute guy. My guy is going on 7.5 months... Enjoy.

Warning: The first three months are REALLY intense. But you'll get through it.
TIPS: Good household tool when baby won't stop crying... HAIRDRYER (on cool, not blowing on baby of course, just on in the same room)!
And, read or watch Dr. Karp (happiest baby on the block) to learn about the 5 S's.

Basically you become the hairdryer, but... IT WORKS!

Seriously, watch this video (not me but it might as well have been) up to the 30 second mark...

congrats! Being a dad makes me try to be a better person daily! My guitar playing sucks worse with no time to practice, but Jaks thinks I am great so I'm cool with it.

That headstock isn't quite right, but I'll bet the tone is great.

Congratulations.

Congratulations - best thing ever. And, in my experience, you have about six months to get your guitars above floor level... Enjoy the lack of sleep - it is worth it.

Congratulations. Best thing to do, take a picture of your son everyday for the first year. You will not believe the transformations your son will go thru that first year. Congratulations again to you and your wife!

Congrats - that was my Dad's 90th birthday, so maybe it'll be lucky for all of you, too. And he's my musical hero (Dad, that is). Still plays at least 2 times a week, and gets paid (not in Nashville). Enjoy while he's young, 'cause, as you've heard, they grow up fast.

Hey DW,

Really well done to the both of you. The changes are profound and you'll soon realize how precious and finite time is. Give your kids the gift of music and they'll carry it their whole lives.

Listen, hear the sound
The child awakes
Wonder all around
The child awakes
Now in his life
He never must be lost
No thoughts must deceive him
In life he must trust

With the eyes of a child
You must come out and see
That your world's spinning 'round
And through life you will be
A small part of a hope
Of a love that exists
In the eyes of a child
You will see

Earth falls far away
New life awaits
Time it has no day
New life awaits
Here is your dream
And now how does it feel?
No words will go with you
And now what is real?

With the eyes of a child
You must come out and see
That your world's spinning 'round
And through life you will be
A small part of a hope
Of a love that exists
In the eyes of a child
You will see

Great news - now buy a few dozen sets of earplugs. SERIOUSLY. I'm not suggesting you ignore your child's crying. But the earplugs will take the edge off just enough to keep you sane.

And, as someone else said, the first few months are tough but it gets easier.

Now get cuddling!

Congrats! And eventually you may want to look at this very useful book (http://www.amazon.com/Solve-Your-Childs-Sleep-Problems/dp/0743201639/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1340984283&sr=8-1&keywords=ferber), the standard reference for dealing with sleep issues.

Not a guitar, but awesome. I've built a couple of those (with help), and they're daily players. The first is finished in blonde, and the second isn't finished enough to tell.

I do recommend Karp's stuff, too. But be aware that there are a few for which his stuff does not work. Our second is like that. We had to find our own way with him.

Congrats on the new shop helper!

Making guitars is fun and challenging. Making kids is LOTS of fun and raising kids can be fun (and challenging too) but getting a video from college from two of your creations at the same time is priceless.
