String trees

I've put a Washburn Wonderbar trem and some Sperzel locking tuners on a Squier Vintage Modified Tele SSH. I took the factory string trees off, figuring the staggered heights of the Sperzels would provide enough tension for the strings coming over the nut - no such luck.

I don't want to put the vintage-style (stamped) trees back on, as I figure they would be creating enough friction to negate the point of the Sperzels.

Does anyone have any suggestions for string tree replacements? I've looked at sets by GraphTech and GuitarFetish, but wonder if anyone has any experience in using these (or others)?

Thanks!

Paul

I used to have a Cort Strat-copy with roller string trees. That was when I was 15 years-old, but I seem to remember that it stayed in tune pretty good with whammy abuse.

I don't know a source, but they might be worth looking for.

I put a TUSQ XL string tree on my K-Line. Works well. Much less B string pinging now. Metal string trees strike me as a very dated idea.
