'57 Special CS Strat

serial# 37 of 60, date 2/10/93.
light weight swamp ash with flame maple top, one piece maple neck, TXS pickups.

these CS Texas Special (circa 1993) are a bit too mid for me... i'm thinking perhaps something more glassy/hollow.

what do you recommend?

I recommend some pictures get posted. That sounds like a sweet guitar. I happen to like the Texas Specials so I don't have suggestions. You can go here

Fender Fat 50's are much sweeter sounding pups than Texas Specials (to my ears anyway) while still being slightly hotter in output than some others.

actually, through my recently purchased limited edition wine red DRRI, it sounds GREAT! nice little amp, real nice.

this is what i play mostly, and my ticket to have met all of you nice folks.
i'll probably leave the original pups in the strat.
this is an MIJ '62 RI. with all Callaham steel and electrics, Fralin pups, 4-way, tone speed pot. and, a special order MIJ replacement neck with Dunlop 6105's--that, when i recieved it, immediately needed a new nut and other repair work (50% of what i paid was eventually refunded); i lost some, alot, of my new frets.
