Hi All. I am getting ready to pull the trigger on one of two sets of pickups for my Highway one tele - today.

I am looking at a set of CS Texas Specials or Dimarzio Area Hot T and Area T neck.

One is noisless and the other higher output tone. Stuck on the fence here so which one would you pick? Is the noiselss worth it or should I just go for the Texas Specials.

I have been experimenting with the BL L-45TL and L-45S and the bridge of this pair is just not for me. I have put in a 200K resistor and the spike in the highs is uncontrollable. So I am going for one of the two sets above. The MF discount is putting them both in the same price point.

I play mostly blues and classic rock so I am not concered with high treble twang.

I can only speak for the CS Texas Special. I put them in a 2011 Am Std and I thought the bridge was too bright for my liking-this was after a solid week of adjusting the pickup height. However, I think the neck pickup is one of the best I've ever heard.

I ended up putting a Dimarzio Chopper T in the bridge and couldn't be happier.

After much contemplation I just orderd the Chopper T and Area T neck. I play a lot on the neck pickup for cleans and really go to bridge for grit and drive. I think this will work.

I think you will really like the Chopper T. It was a little tricky reading the instructions - Depends on whether or not you want to split the coil. I opted not to and this will change the wiring just a smidge.
