Line 6 M5 and Boss FV500H volume pedal [Archive]

So I've googled and checked this forum and the Line 6 one, and tried everything I can think of. All I've found is "yes, it works", but no explanation of how to set it up. I feel pretty stuck.

Anyone using a Boss FV500H (or FV500L?) as an expression pedal for their M5? Do you have to do anything special to set it up?

EDIT: Figured it out! Must have had a bad cable, it works great now.
